>>1674875>>1674877 I also went to art school for many years. Its not so much about color blending as it is gradation and the manipulation of one color onto another. I specialize in colored pencils and water color, so you can't really mix the two so much as overlap them. The best lessons taught in fine arts for me were the charcoal still-life images and graphite pencils. Working in black and white and getting a handle on how light hits a shape is a great foundation imo. Also I didn't draw this, but is what i'm talking about
