Personally, I don't see what the problem is with this thread. It beats the hell out of a lot of the lame excuses for threads that get posted here (exactly how many birthday threads do we really need?)
So in that spirit - Cowboy Bebop. Through it all, still probably my single favorite anime. It's just such a brilliant combination of comedy and drama, action and music, whimsy and grit.
