If you have Windows already:
Running a linux distro and then running WINE or some other compatibility layer to then play a videogame is just expending effort to make things worse.
Do not go through that extra headache for a slower version--if it'll actually run--of what you already have on Windows.
PS Nvidia loves Windows videogames and they'll masturbate their Windows drivers until they have that 8k 60hz shine --> they release Windows driver updates FOR popular video games. But they at least they give Linux actual hand-me-down drivers whereas AMD GPU users are SOL.
Also, the commonly visible troubleshooting options are generally archaic shellomancy + unscrupulous use of sudo + "just use this wierd package that hasn't been maintained for the past 3 years".
Linux distros are crazy good for downloading stuff and running your buddy's strange cpp/java/python project that he claims will solve the mysteries of the universe. But o/w Windows is much more appealing for the consumer level user. Who cares if everything is inscrutable if it works.
