>>1978204First off, it's your "metagame" that you need to fix - each thing is part of the same object. To fix this, you need to tell it to put in "slices" that then will put a micro-fine hair between one object and another. With the image as it is, this is the most likely way you are going to have anything done.
There is another way, though - make each thing you want colored its own object.
You can then, form there, Make each thing colored the way you want it with the look you are going for.
Here is a quick example - What I would actually do is make each colored piece at the same time, so I would make all my blues first, then my red, then my greens. If you have snap or show nodes set up properly, you won't have to worry about things not lining up.
Though to me, this looks like a test to get used to the tools. I recommend NOT doing it this way - either watch the tutorials here, or the one for the minimalist vector thread. What you are doing here looks "easier" but is really a metric fuckton more work in the long run.
