>>2158777Do them as individual pieces. Don't try to do multiple hair strands as one shape. You can easily hide each hair strand under another, which gives you more flexibility, especially if the hair is complex.
You also want to make sure nodes and handles are parallel, which will help maintain consistent thickness. Example highlighted with the nodes/handles.
