>>1568045I usualy work the eyes a bit different from the rest. They're usualy my transition from lines to color and I work them as colored shapes. I'd recommend doing the same. I'll attach a rough exemple of how I break down my layers for eyes. It'll require some use of Outline mode (ctrl+y) (Make sure your base layer is set as a template), the Pathfinder window and Masks which are helpful in general.
