I think they're semi-transparent pixels. The background was originally white.
You grew your selection by 0.5 and then feathered 1
Try growing 1.0 before feathering. See if that solves the problem.
Incidentally, at the far right, you can see white jaggies around the loose hair strand.
That's one of the areas I said still needed trimming because the strand vanished if I cut too close.
