Then I went over the discontinuities in the runes with paint and smear tools. I think that improves them but there's no way to wipe out ALL the gaps without erasing the runes and recreating them with some exotic font. They are, after all, just repetitions of one or two "letters". Can't expect them to align like cursive handwriting.
