‘Madura! Finally, you were out for about 5 minutes! You were mumbling to yourself about Harbinger and that you “wouldn’t do it!” Ned had arisen, with a nice swelling on his forehead. ‘Plus, I swear I heard a gong or something at one point.’
Madura cringed upon seeing his friend’s forehead. ‘Sorry about that. And to be honest, I’m still not sure exactly what happened either. I get a splitting headache, then a voice echoes through my head claiming to belong to Harbinger. She spouts a useless mix of ‘secret’ things, plus a load of other useless advice and ideology.’ Madura’s coal black, gold-flecked irises and jet-black pupils scanned the organized crowd of soldiers passing by, as if to discern Harbinger strolling among them.
‘Whoa,’ Ned said. ‘And here’s me thinking I’d woken you up before.’
‘Let’s just go, we have parading and training to do. For a change.’ Madura added bitterly, running his hand through his lengthy brown hair. He followed behind Ned as they made their way to the parade ground for the morning drill, staring at Ned’s light brown, short hair as it shone with the intermittent rays of the morning sun. He really was the average Private; not too fit or muscled (no matter how much he trained) or amazingly striking to look at. But it was more in what one could sense that one could use to discern a private of the SATH; Ned possessed no aura of authority, no intimidating attributes, and an assuming and affable demeanour.
