A battery bar will be either a rectangle/square shape or a oval/circle one, at least with UCCW, which I used. So to change its shape drastically (like how this anon did it too

This's my case:
It's extremely important to know exactly the grid size you want for your widget beforehand. Trust me, make a blank widget and play around with it on the lockscreen/homescreen, whatever the hell you're planning to put it. When you're done on choosing the size and place, take a screenshot with that square around the blank widget still showing. It will help on the next step.
My initial png would still leave the hole bar on display. So I took a screenshot of my lockscreen like I said earlier, put the png over the blank widget square, then cropped the wall around it. So what you're really seeing there is pic related, which blends with the wall behind it.
All this with any decent image editing program, in my lazy cheap ass case,
Paint.net.
