>>1747129Every one of my edits in this style has a shadow you just need to look carefully, I really like the extra depth it provides. It also compensates for badly drawn images that would otherwise end up flat.
For this one I made it more pronounced because I didn't like how flat the cape looked. In addition to this the whole image has her in motion charging with the sword and I thought the shadow would help with that movement by adding some more depth. Indicating that she is moving away from the wall or just the illusion of popping out towards the viewer. I would have the shadow flatter along the ground in this case but I needed it up for the cape. I admit though the shadow is not transparent enough for the darker top half of the background but it still gets the job done.
