The one major flaw (imo) of the anime is that compared to the visual novel (it's source material), it does a pretty terrible job of explaining what the hell happened. I had to look it up to fully understand everything but I'm glad I did cause it allowed me to have an even greater appreciation for it, which is why it's my favorite. [spoiler:lit] Apparently there are like 4 different timelines and what we see going on in the anime often jumps from timeline to timeline without us realizing - I would definitely recommend you looking up a full explanation of it if you haven't already.
