Just one extra tip for hair though. Most people who first vector seem to not notice this, but when drawing the V shape hair, the tips of the hair and the distance between the inside and the outside node will make a huge difference on what the handles can do for those particular nodes. You want to constantly make sure that that distance is the same between the rest of the hair nodes, and that should help.
Otherwise, practice, practice, practice.
