It's just that whenever you start a new project by going to file>new, it'll open the new file with a whole array of preset color swatches. The default colors in there seem to do that weird grey outline for me, I figured it might be the same issue for you. So what I meant is that you should delete to default swatches and add colors that you pick yourself instead. Pic related.
