>>1698191And here's one I did today. Think I did a much better job with this one. Had to recolor it a few times trying to remember which things to fill and stroke in which order to not screw it up. If I spent a bit more time on it I would've made the lines line up better too.
So basically what I did was just select things with the pen tool on an original image and then blow it up a lot. After blowing it up I'd select things that didn't line up quite right and line them up better. It was a real bitch to color things. I think I recolored it all like 5 or 6 times after realizing the shading bits were over top of the shirt bits or the neck was overtop of the bottom of the face, etc. etc. I guess I'll just get better at that over time. I see now that I missed a few thigns; the brown outside the one lock of hair is kind of bugging me, but again I kind of like it. I'll be able to look back at this one day and see myself improving over time. That glow effect kind of screwed me up a lot too. Took a while for me to clean up the black edges afterwards.
One specific thing I'd like to ask and hope someone could help me out with: is there a way to get those tapered lines I see in a lot of these with Photoshop? All I can find with Google is how to do it with Illustrator. I'm guessing that will end up being one of those benefits that convinces me to switch over.
