The new freeform gradient feature in illustrator 2019 looks interesting, might be a way to get g-mesh like effects without going through the rigmarole of using g-mesh for more simple gradients. Too bad in the illustrator versions going forward amtlib.dll can no longer be exploited. Hopefully PainteR or someone will come up with a way to crack it. Although since there will no longer be offline activation it might be harder.
