Despite the shitty picture, your setup looks nice. I really like that shelf. You just need a cool lamp with a yellow bulb to make the desk extra comfy. Also, not sure how your light fixture is set up, but if you can get some adjustable spotlights that you can aim on the shelf, it can look pretty nice. I did that recently, replacing a more standard ceiling area light with a few spotlights, and it looks great with the lights on.
