With Illustrator or Inkscape, for example, you will be able to take your base product and export at a much higher resolution without any quality loss or visible pixelation, in other words. Depending on what kind of project you are working on, you might want to consider switching to vector instead. Illustrator also is a lot more convenient tools wise. In the end it really just depends on what you are trying to create.
Also, about your path, you could do with a few less nodes but overall it is much, much better than your first take. I'll attach how I would do that shape, in case it might help.
