I put transparent tape in place to try and keep the LED strips from curling up because of the heat. The adhesive is from 3M, but might not stick very well depending on your surface material of the back of your monitor.
Also, if you decide to get a Lightpack specifically, be sure to tape off the light on the unit itself as it can interfere with the rest of the lighting. (see middle bottom pic)
An important side note: using ambilight systems like this (that work via USB instead of a passthrough) will cut some performance (CPU and GPU) off your PC depending on how often it has to refresh the color of the light, so be sure your PC has some headroom to spare.
