'You will, now or soon. I can see it all in your mind and soul, even if you do not yourself.'
Madura was angered by the fact that this voice, which might not even be Harbinger, (this thought was but a denial to himself. The power behind the voice told another story than the one he tried to convince himself of), had assumed he could be bent to her will so easily. He answered purely to prove the voice wrong.
'Well, I refuse. Why not approach one of the SATH Generals if you can contact anybody you wish? I will not lay down my life for a random…voice that suddenly appears out of nowhere! Nothing can defeat SATH; I will not throw this life away for nothing, for some ill-fated folly that could never succeed anyway! It’s stupid, you just dumped this all on me, how am I supposed to believe this?'
'There is no “supposed to”- there is only your decision, and your faith.' The calm voice hadn’t been fazed one bit. It appeared Harbinger was confident she was right in assuming he would attempt this task for her.
'Right. It’s still a no,' thought Madura, extremely frostily.
