The cause of this global desecration: the humans had bored into the land too deep in search of more resources, when the human race had greedily exhausted everything. Their underground search for a miracle had resulted in nothing less than the exact opposite. They searched crudely and showed no caution. They broke right through the solid onyx seal the heavens had hexed and bound the elementals to, thinking it a large expanse of hard rock. They had thought ‘maybe this oddly located rock is valuable’ and nothing else. The seal was broken, and the Elementals had escaped. No trace of humanity remained, for within fifteen minutes everything, every record of history, every hero’s sacrifice, scientist’s efforts, wars’ and evolution’s fruits had been transformed into nothing but a pathetic patch of hydrogen gas. The civilized society had doomed the earth with its greed. The lord of the heavens had given them an endless supply of warnings and time to stop their self-consuming ways. The emotion of greed decreed that the humans took no notice, even though the Earth’s eco-system was effectively screaming in protest. Now, they had gone too far. Without the seal to condemn them, the life giving Elementals had taken back the life they originally had given.
