How do I determine the way the lines' thickness should change based on their direction and angle? Are there any general guidelines for that?
I'm now vectoring a set of drawings by one artist and he doesn't really use different line widths, so I have to think up them myself, but I have hard time doing so.
It seems that generally lines tend to become thicker on the objects bending outside (like hips, marked magenta in this pic), while getting thinner if they're bending inwards (green). Also it makes sense to make lines on the outsides of objects thicker than those belonging to single object inside (yellow). But at the same time I see some artists making lines very thin or even disappearing if objects bend outside very much (like shoulders, saw that on another Kuroneko pic somewhere earlier).
Anything else? Maybe you can suggest me a set of images with well-pronounced line widths difference or an artist so I'd learn by example.
