I'd say white or a softer blue would work. Since this is for Christmas, green might work well. I attached some color samples of examples of what I mean. Really you could just pick nearly any shade of green so long as it's not super saturated or bright. If you put it against the red and it doesn't burn your eyes out, you're good to go.
