This is why fanart is always the best choice, because they know good color saturation. If you can't get fanart, then getting a decent anime screenshot is good enough, because you only have to alter saturation a little bit. For instance, this is the same color from the second source, but with 8% more saturation. The shadows are also 8% more.
I also did more of the face to highlight that removing features from the original will hurt your image. Not having the eye folds make the eyes more bland, not having the line to emphasize the bridge of the nose at the top removes expression and leaves the middle empty, and not having the highlights on the face remove even more features, especially without blush. Last thing has to do with the mouth. Mouths are really fucking hard to get right. There are times where a simple line or two can take 30-60 minutes, because you just can't get the expression down. So for instance, in this image, there should be some slight grumble or hesitation. A good way to show that is to have a few lines or one line that bends and curves from start to finish. The problem with your mouth is that it bends heavily on one side, giving it a smuggish look, and then fails to bend anywhere else to show worry, or tension. You need to alter it more to achieve the look from the original.
