The tips of the hair are all varying with some being very thick and others being very thin. You have to find a thickness you like, and replicate it throughout the rest of the hair.
The other issue is the use of too many nodes. The hair on the left side suffers from this greatly. It looks too lumpy because of it, and it makes it harder thickness wise. Try using the most minimal amount of nodes first before adding others. You of course also want to make sure all the nodes and handles are parallel.
