I think it ends with someone replacing Lupin as a new Lupin IIBeen a while since I've seen it, but I think it had something to do with an older Lupin claiming to be the real Lupin and the protagonist Lupin trying to foils some plan he had. Ends with them on the roof with a cool scene in the style of the original manga whatever Lupin made it out was the true Lupin or something.
Fun OVA with lot's of neat references, but very confusing and hard to follow.
Never really got through all of V since to be perfectly honest most of the modern Lupin media hasn't been my cup of tea, but I know characters do occasionally make a comeback in older stuff. There's the whole OVA dedicated to Pycal, Return of the Magician. Plus mild continuity between Green Jacket and Red Jacket especially early on.
Still kinda weird to think of the series having a continuous story and universe though. Imagining stuff like A Women Called Fujiko Mine in the same universe as Bye Bye Lady Liberty is kinda hard to do.
