You remember that crazy religious granny on the street who you see for all of 5 seconds? She's actually an integral part to the story. The Colonel is a much bigger character as well, and he's pretty goddamn badass. Kei has a really cool sidekick, a huge beefcake of a woman.
But if you didn't like the movie, then you probably won't care for the 6 volume manga.
