The trick is, to learn how to do more with less: that's why I usually suggest to peopel to learn how to make eggs and circles using just "two points" (the third closes the nodes) from horizontal, vertical and 45 degree angles, both positive and negative (or, in direction terms, north, south, east, west, ne, sw, nw, se) and you'll learn a lot about how to handle your levers better.
