Just to add to this what to request, what not to request ect discussion.
There are many things I would be interested in doing but just do not have the free time and I'm sure many others are in the same boat.
I personally only do one project at a time.
Quite often there will be a request made of something I am interested in but I don't want to say "I'll pick that up" because I don't want to "claim" it and get distracted with something else.
Mean while, someone else who may have been interested in doing said project moves on to something else and in the end the project is forgotten.
I've come back to things weeks or months later from when they were first requested so don't be too quick write your request off as something no one is interested in picking up.
