You can call it whatever the hell you want, but most people would not call it "Japanese Anime" considering it was made in America and not Japan.
America = Cartoons
Japan = Anime
Although of course they'd probably just consider Anime in Japan to be cartoons as well so the terms are interchangeable, but I think it's safe to say that most if not all Americans consider anything coming out of Japan that's animated to be Anime and not simply a cartoon so as to distinguish the two from one another.
