>>1351642 Avatar is not anime just because you want it to be.Um. Yes. As stated before, Anime is short for "Animation", because the Japanese have issues speaking some English words. Why else do you think they call the PC(Personal Computer) Persoko(n) instead of either the letters OR the full name?
>>1351778 Butthurt and weeaboo, they've become quite the popular labels these days haven't they?If the shoe fits...
Still:Both of you are diverting the conversation just to prove your points with comments about opinion instead of actual fact.
To get things back on track: 1) ANIME IS A JAPANESE SHORTHAND FOR ANIMATION. There is no changing this fact. It is defined as a shorthand for animation in Japanese guides, dictionaries AND wikipedia, to name a few. Just because WE, the rest of the world has changed it to a "genre" does NOT make it right. It's like giving the Densh Otoko Live Action dramas their own place under J-Drama. it's is completely absurd. IUt is a live-action drama, whether it is from France, England the USA or Japan.
2) The reason for the segregation SHOULD BE BY GENRE. LIKE I SAID PREVIOUSLY, it should be Adult animation, Mature Animation, Children's Animation, and THEN sectioned off into Scifi/Fantasy/Horror etc. AS MOST AMERICAN ANIMATONS HAVE BEEN SECTIONED ALREADY.
I have shown four examples already before this post that makes my point vaild, and yet, all you guys have been saying is I am wrong, with no counterpoints other than the otaku culture and your beliefs. I walk into Target and Walmart and other places and see Nausicaa or Mononoke, and even Bebop right next to Batman or Phineas and Ferb, depending on ITS RATING.
I have seen NO PROOF from either of you. I have delivered proof in each post with my examples. How about you?
