You should change your icons. They don't fit with the theme. If you're using ecqlipse 2 icons, then switch to the white version.

2 things.

How do I open the preferences menu easily with this skin? I can't seem to get to it.

And I can't seem to sync my last.fm with it either. I did all of the steps where you add your username and password, but it says to right click on a heart icon and do something, but there is no heart icon for me. What am I doing wrong?

Install Appows dusk, bblean and windawesome.
Install token light icon theme.
Search pixiv, boorus and other imageboards for suitable picture of your waifu.
Vector her.
Use the vector on a dark gradient background; it's your new wallpaper.
Change colors to taste.

Well, there's auto-hide but that still leaves a little sliver of taskbar at the bottom, it's worse when you have different windows open because you can see the top of the icons when the taskbar is "hidden"

Shouldn't happen with the default theme. Only way I can see that happening is if you don't have it "locked." Lock removes the border used for resizing, so if you do have that issue, that should fix it. Otherwise I'd just guess you have something other than the default theme.

The first is Arch linux using a wm called Awesome. I really want to know the theme in use, but it's possible that it's a personal customization. Awesome is designed to be scripted. The idea is that you roll your own WM using Lua.

I have no idea about the second or third.
Though, in my experience, dark themes only ever look good with a handful of programs (Well, the GUIs for those programs).

Yes, I got around to it once and it was a pain

Open up your splitter setting by the volume, you'll find the color codes used in there, if you change those you only change the top bar, but they're the same colors used in the rest of the skin

Open the splitter settings for EL playlist and go to the fields, you'll find lines like COLOR1 or something, edit the codes there, good luck, it's a chore

All codes are RGB

To get the icons to sit properly on my task bar in appows dusk I just unlock the task bar and drag it around really quickly from top to side and bottom until it glitches and sits right no fucking around with expanding it or anything.

Use small icons on the task bar and get a darker coloured background bar for the rainmeter, plus a better background wouldn't hurt or prehaps another vector would look better instead of the Kyou one. Also hide all the tray icons except for the clock.

honestly if you want my advice i think that a lot of the shells people use are just going overboard, really i dont think its necessary... the farthest ive gone is customizing a few icons and changing my start orb. everything i found was through google. dont forget to read the sticky in /wg/ either.

look into "start orb changer" and check deviant art for guides on installing themes. token is the most popular icon pack, and appows the most popular theme. make sure you create a system restore point before installing any new shells.

make sure you have the right version of foobar installed, and make a new folder in your foobar2000 directory to store all your themes. there may already be a folder there for skins/themes.

also make sure you have the right components, like foo_ui_columns, panel splitters, and anything else that skin may rely on. go to file>display, drop the menu down to columns ui. from there the left menu should have columnsui under display, click on it and then you should just need to press IMPORT under FCL on the right and find the foo_ncmpcpp.fcl file.

Dont forget to install any fonts you may need too.

No, not really. If you want a nice theme for Nightly that stays working for longer than a few weeks, you are going to have to make it yourself. Most designers don't want to deal with how volatile Nightly is, because it takes a lot of work to constantly fix themes/styles when they break.

It's really not that difficult though, just check out CSS and XUL on the Mozilla Developer Network.

Instad of modifying all of your files manually, find programs that do the work for you.

Like for themes, install UXThemePatcher and then use Windows Theme Installer to install the visual style of your choice.

For icons, use 7conifier.

No problem. I suggest you read the documentation and the like if you plan to use irssi, figuring it out on your own and being dumb like I did can be bothersome.
