You can add your music folder to library (Preferences > Media library) and check Enable Library viewer selection playlist. That will create a playlist of your library and it updates automatically.
You can also change the action in ELplaylist settings > Behaviour so it'll open the library tree (Library\Album List) when you double click on empty space in playlist. The library viewer playlist will change to whatever you select in the library tree windows.
