However, they were made in Japan by Japanese writers and thus fall under anime and manga. Just because it is inspired by a particular artstyle doesn't mean it is classified as falling under anime and manga. The Boondocks has animation and character designs inspired by anime, but do fans consider it anime? No. Teen Titans has animation and character designs inspired by anime, but do fans consider it anime? No. Avatards are the only ones who are this fucking delusional about it. You can sugar coat it anyway you want, but the truth is that Avatar is NOT ANIME. I'm not saying that it's shit, I'm not trying to demean the series, I'm not trying to say that the creators of the show indeed put all of their effort into making the series.
