I am using the same theme and never replaced any 32bit files. Saving images from the internet brings up the window with the default explorer frames (arrows), but I dont even notice it.
Just a reminder though and maybe some reassurance: 32bit .dlls go into SysWOW64 and 64bit .dlls go into System32. Again, 32bit=SysWOW64. 64bit=System32. So make sure you did that right, maybe delete what you have in there after taking control again and replace them, then do a quick logoff and see what happens.
