I have to ask, is there any VSes for Windows that don't make text impossible to read, or have really weird Min/Max/Close buttons, or make some programs display like garbage, or have zero contrast whatsoever, or use little bitmap fonts that work for about 1% of Unicode characters?
Because so far I just can't find one that works for me.

It's my own theme that I've not released since it's a real pain to get working properly, I wouldn't wish installing it upon my greatest enemy to put it short on why It's not out.

I'm actually on 7. Maybe I'm just being picky as fuq, but none of the ones I've tried/seen work too well for me. Either windows blend together, or text is difficult to read, or something. Something's off.

This is my explorer window so far. I try to keep the colors consistent.
Once I will release the VS I will update upon user feedback/suggestions.

W8 VSs are not compatible with W7. They are compatible with W8.1.

Well, shit. Regardless, looks good. Only gripes are that it is a bit hard to differentiate windows from other widows (especially on the top) and that the maximize icon looks a little off.

Oh yeah, another thing, imo there ought to be a barely-visible arrow instead of nothing for the explorer back/forward buttons when they're disabled. Unless, of course, you haven't gotten to that yet and that too is a remnant of that template

Make sure you replace both if you're on a 64-bit system, after that a reboot is all that's needed.

SysWOW64 is for 32-bit.

Yes, I am using the anama2 litestep theme, though only to hide the taskbar since I can access tasks via the menu.

I do like the idea of using quickview, but I prefer being able to have full resize control. I'll still give it a try.

This is embarrassing but I'm having trouble installing a foobar skin. It's version 1.2.9 and when I go to import a skin the fcl files don't show up. Did something change with this latest version? I-eh, they're just letters, I did make them myself and they're not anywhere, but they're stupidly easy to make.
and I have no idea what font I used now it might have been Open Sans/Segoe UI.

the title is removed with bblean skin in that shot, but you can also remove it with auto hot key or true transparency. you can hide the scrollbars by editing mintty.rc, and you can google the script. its called pipesx.sh

New to this whole ricing thing so please be gentle

I had a couple of questions to ask for which Nanami-Tan was inadequate

1.How do I add CPU speed, temp, fan speed, etc to the bblean bar? I looked through the bblean docs and none of those were mentioned.

2.How do I use a slim firefox style (IE: Ahokas) with tabbed browsing and an otherwise usable interface? The black bars from the script will always cramp on top of the black bars from my user theme, and will always cover the X button which makes it close whenever I try to open a new tab. Do I have to kill the top bar and with it the X[]- buttons? If so then how, BBleans default alternative works on some programs but straight up breaks on Firefox.

3. How do I get a riced up torrent client? I use qbitt as that is what the trackers I use allow and it is easy to use. The UI however sticks out like an eyesore and there is no easy way to remove it as far as I see.

I've been participating in these threads for at least 3 years, and things really haven't changed too much. In general, everything has become more and more simplified, and color-coordinated. Most everything looks unique in it's own way, even though everything is basically the same idea interpreted differently.

I think all the simplicity and coordination is obnoxious though, for what I use my computer for. Maybe my mind has turned to mush, but I have a very hard tome distinguishing shapes, boundaries and shadows when everything is different shades of the same color, or reduced down to two colors, which is common. The visual barriers that contrast provide are mandatory for me, especially when working with file managers, or image processors.

I agree, its very difficult for me to manage overlapping windows when there are no borders or shadows. Transparency gets confusing as well. I've pretty much tried every variance in visual styles. High contrast borders and a darker shadow with less spread is very much worth it.

That new tab icon is ugly, your second wallpaper's aspect ratio looks off, ruri is a smug slut, there's a white bar at the bottom of the pic, and the vibrant red and white colors on your foobar hurt my eyes. Also you smell funny and your friends steam name sucks. Other than that it is very cute.
