THIS IS THE IMAGE MODIFICATION THREAD (IMT)
Welcome to IMT
We are here to help. All wallpaper and image modification requests are welcome, within reason.
>Requesters: ● Anyone who offers to help is doing so on their own time, so don't forget to thank them.
● If you need a bigger wallpaper, do a reverse image search before you ask us.
● Explain your request as best you can.
● Don't take it personally if your request is skipped or overlooked.
● We do these requests for free, please don't redistribute these for upvotes or the sort elsewhere.
● There is a separate thread for vectors, please take vector requests there.
● Removing the background from an image is a RENDER, NOT a vector.
● Refrain from arguing about the "RENDER" word, it's just a slang for removing the background.
>All: ● Be polite and try to use proper spelling.
● Feel free to shower us with critique.
>More Information: ● Images SMALLER than 480x600 pixels are not allowed. (100000x600 or 480x100000 will not work)
● Supported file types are: GIF, JPG, PNG
● Maximum file size allowed is 4 MB.

Also, simply having it done shouldn't imply that you can expect the same kind of response for other things. The tread was a lot slower back then and it was one of relatively few requests.

Looking for tips on how to fix this up (removing the text). The big resolution makes it relatively easy for me to redraw the lines, but I just can't figure out how to fix the colors where the blue stuff is over her. It's a scan so there's some weird gradient and I'm not sure how to continue it naturally to the blue'd spots.

A little update on this before I sleep. I managed to figure out all the steps from the image, so thanks again. A bit of a issue is that I need this image relatively quickly, but I’m not sure if I can work fast/well enough to make it on time. The exact situation is that I need to print the image on a playmat for regionals next week, but it takes the custom printer guys a while to actually print the mat. If anyone has time to help me out by doing some of the image and then uploading the psd it would be much appreciated.

So guys, it would be great if you could help me out with this one. I did as much research beforehand as I could. I want the decal of the colored girl removed so it's only the black silhouette of the girl and the scrapyard and the bright sky. It would also be great to get the text in the bottom right corner removed but that seems to be pretty easy. I've found the original image that was used for the sky in a bigger resolution and another image which is pretty much the same but with another decal(this one in the same res), I'll post them as a response to this one. I can't post the original image as I took it from a thread that is still active. I'll just link it and upload it if that thread goes 404:

Anonymous
>>1602945 You did a pretty good job, but let me just have a little positive criticism about it. I'd like it to be as accurate to the original as possible and have also as little redraw as possible, I don't care how much of the sky it shows. If you combine both images there's just a little part of the scrapyard that doesn't show in any image. That would be the only part that has to be redrawn and I think it makes it easier. Also, the parts you redrew (her hand and part of the scrapyard) don't seem to have the same blur as the rest of the image. Finally, and this is not really important, I'd like to keep that kind of white aura or thin cloud effect on the sky.

>>1602982 Great, now the blur is perfect. If you go back to the original post:
>>1602911 and give it a read you'll see the original images and also what I mean by the original ground. Someone redrew it and you took that one and fixed the blur, I guess. That kind of thin clouds are present in the original images (not the one with the raw sky obviously). It's like a white filter that looks like an aura or some kind of thin, very tall cloud.
Anyway big thanks to anyone who has helped me so far or will do in the future, I'm just trying to get it as close as I can to the thing I want.

Can I get this image put on the same background as the following image? Same position, too, please, though I can tweak that myself. Backstory: Trying to make a custom 3DS XL skin for my girlfriend for Christmas, will possibly use this as the inside image.

Hello,
I was wondering if somebody could darken the background, so it is grey. The background color on 4chan's "tomorrow" style is the preferred color.
The pure white background is pretty bright when it's late and there's no lights on.
I recently grabbed the wallpaper from here, so it gives me duplicate file:

>>1603926 For the record, no, it doesn't. A larger image with much more variation in color, such as things with artifacts can end up taking a larger file size than something with simple colors and smaller. That doesn't make it better, in fact, worse. "Quality" is just a shit word in general. Images with a high pixel density are what makes an image crisp, and while it's easier to have a high pixel density on a larger image since it goes by pixel per inch, a large image is not instantly "higher quality."
In your case, GIMP is asking if you'd like to reduce the pixels per inch or maintain what the original image had for its compression rate. The one image has been compressed a little more, most likely leading to some artifacting that with an image that has complex colors like that may result in lower file sizes.
