I used 4chan's yotsubluenew.541.css as a reference and worked from there.
'View source' would give you the CSS file you need.
You only need to know you way around CSS which honestly is pretty simple to work with.

CSS tutorials and code examples exists all over the place. W3C schools is probably the best.

I'm that guy, my error was because I was launching mintty from the directory and not just launching cygwin. Idk if that helps you at all.

Same guy again, the other reason could be is because you don't have all the packages you need, I had that problem as well. You could try deleted and reinstalling just to see if it helps.

I'm pretty happy with what I have now so far.
It took a bit of work not to break some things, getting the posts to be of the same width is a pain for now I've set a min and max width.

I think I will start customizing my chrome browser now and change my windows taskbar.

Yep I'm reinstalling cygwin and will try the 32bit version too, maybe it will help.

Worked on a white steam skin as cygwin was bothering me, well I never got something looking that good and without any bug. >>1636275 Based my skin on your one and this helped me so much, many thanks mate. All menus are hidden in the top black bar, revealed when hovered, but it's still a bit messy and I've only customized the library part so far. I may release the skin soon, and I'll do an entirely white version without the bar to fit white setups.

First time posting for ricing advice I've read a good portion of the ricing guide and didn't find what I was looking for.

How do I get the padding between windows with a snap-to function? I can get vertical and horizontal margins relative to the edge of the screen with bblean's settings but not padding inbetween programs/applications.

Forgot to add I'm not using any add-on buttons, so if you have those, remove them by right clicking on them/the new tab button and clicking Customize. What I did was replace all the icons in an array of system .dlls. Before I used ResHack, but this time I tried Restorator and found it to be much more efficient. But yes, I had to remake all the icons and then replace icons. I only use IconPackager for a few icons that I haven't edited the system files for.
The best part about it though is that, is that I was able to do the icons, VS (which I also used it to replace the bitmaps of), and all my skins in just a day (plus sleeping time)!

I intentionally went with a darker set of colours this time. I usually use bright colours, and I figured if I was going to use my standard blue setup, that I wanted at least one thing to be different. Now that I'm on linux and it's easier to customize everything I've begun experimenting with new colour schemes and such. Some only last a few hours, others become permanent. I feel if everything always looks the same (dark terminal wiith birght colours) I would get bored.

Is there any way to actually rice chrome? I've gotten way to used to it to just switch to FF for the sake of ricing. And for some reason, when I try to change the fonts in appchan settings, it won't recognize it, anyway I can fix that?

just get dwm (or any wm/de you like), and edit the configuration files as your tastes. in the case of dwm after editing you have to recompile it and reinstall.
same for the terminal (personally i recommend xterm or urxvt, both light and customizable)
for the terminals you have to edit .Xresources and/or .Xdefaults
same for mpd and ncmpcpp

The source is avaliable for anyone to play with on github, so anyone can fork it. I may still work on it on the side, though progress will drop drastically. Anybody else had problems with Appows/know how to fix this? Tried using natsume's dusk and t first things some of the parts of the themes were missing and the explorer was messed up so i replaced shell32 and explorerframe but now it basically changed to a dark windows basic, and even more stuff is missing. Also i can't change shell32 back because it backed up the first change i made and resets it to the renamed and unusable shell32 if i try to do anything

It looks like the theme defaulted to basic, do you have Aero enabled? Otherwise you probably extracted the theme to the wrong directory.

nevermind, its working now. I guess when i used src to repair the files it unpatched windows. Which is odd because i used src to try to fix that exact problem. I'll try re applying the explorerframe and such to see if it works tomorrow. Thanks for the help

Oh and I just used small icons and got a program that removes the text. In the OP, use that link and click on the first info graphic, I believe that's where I got it from. If not look at the "Planishphere" theme on deviant art. It may be there.
