Is there any Battery bar/percentage indicator for Android that is not a battery drain?
I tried using Zooper Widget as recommended in the pastebin, and I really liked it, it looks nice but I noticed right away that it was eating all the battery up.

keep in mind just about every widget will drain the batter more than if you have no widgets. If you are noticing a lot of drain with uccw/zooper then let your phone either drain completly then keep it off and recharge it to full or simply try a reboot. Batteries are funny like that.

MNML black or white. They look a lot like square version of holler though, so they are transparent.

What you have now looks good though. If you don't have an icon you want you can always make one with scopes pack rather easily.

Not all the time, but I have a bad habit of loading my phone up with a lot of crap, mainly images from 4chan and I use the memory widget as a way to remind my self to copy it over to my pc and sort it out before it gets out of hand.

I get these same suggestions every 20ish threads and they are all valid suggestions but I just cant seem to make them. My setup is this way because thats just the work flow I like using. The only thing I really see as redundant and out of place is the memory one.

I meant replace your memory widget with a music widget. The music widget feels out of place, so putting it where the memory widget would look much better. And I'd suggest just setting a gesture to open up your webbrowser if you really want easy searching. Mine is two fingers swiping up, for example.

But it's your phone, so just do what works for you.

The music widget doesn't really fit there. And resize the top frame will mess up the other two screens. The search bar doesn't open the Web browser (which does have an icon already). The search bar searches more than just google. It searches for stuff locally and online. I've gotten all your suggestions in the past at some point and the alternatives just don't work for me. I've tried them out and it just doesn't fly.

How do I arrange app icons hexagonally? I want to do something NGE themed and there are a number of icon packs out there with apps arranged in a honeycomb arrangement but they never fucking explain how to set it up that way.

You just have to get the grid to be large enough to make a rough hexagon shape.

you could also look into other launchers. I think this one lets you place icons anywhere, you dont have to stick with a grid.

Apparently SSLauncher lets you arrange apps with no grid so I'm going to try that. You'd think they'd explain how to arrange things the way they display them in their own screenshots though

Screw with your grid size until you reach the maximum size where it doesn't cut the icons off (i.e. I use 8x8) and then you can do that honeycomb thingy.

I finally made a rice that I can use for more than a week. Pretty fucking amazed with myself, I actually made something I really like.
I haven't changed anything, just the center image, to join in on the lewd express.

Make the hexagon icons part of the background, and just use invisible icons over them. It wont be a perfect fit but it'll do the job.

Make the icon you want in ps, save it as a png, and use it in uccw/zooper. There you can arrange them in any way you want.

I've tried that and at least with Nova it doesn't work. Increasing the grid just scales everything down proportionally, so the icons become tiny but still have fucking gigantic spaces between each other. Gonna have to play around with different launchers I guess.

If I were going to move the widget I would have to use a completely different one. UCCW doesn't do music widgets from what I know, zooper does but only the paid for version.

Extract the icon pack, and place the icons directly to the wallpaper where you want them to go. Set the new image as the wallpaper and place the real icons over the wallpaper versions. The will not fit perfectly (square grid vs hex grid) but it will be generally close enough. Use a transparent icon to cover up the real ones.

There's no real story other than me having posted this once before and having it had good reception despite being off topic. Like I said, I'd never used /wg/ or /g/ before making this theme, so all my inspiration came from /w/. Inspiration may have been a bad word. I think I should have said I took most of my knowledge and knowhow from /w/ and applied it to my current theme. My inspiration is really just from The Incredibles, considering I took the logo and the UI of Syndrome's computer straight from it.

Regardless, I wanted to share it with /w/ just once more because I do care what you guys think, but I also don't want to bring this board off topic any more because of how much I do love it.

Thats really all there is to it. When you get those jagged edges you can try a few things. I'll do my best to describe them but I'm really tired right now and don't have the best thought process right now.

Well you're probably using the magic wand or the paint bucket. What you want to do is use the pen tool (I think that's what it's called, hotkey is P) and trace the icon with it. Then you'll have no jaggyness.

You have all the files here. There are two types of clock and two types of icons, one is where the honeycombs are split and the other one is pic related.
You're going to need Zooper of course.
I didn't know if you wanted them to be transparent or not, so just tell me if you have any specific color in mind and I'll fix it in a few mins.
I didn't have icons for Nova and torrents, so I used the Google Drive and Maps icons.
Now, if you want to edit it, when you click on the widget you can increase it's overall scale or go in layouts and move every hex and icon in any way you want. Every hex is on top of it's icon so you can find your way around better.
To make them actually work like icons, go in Layouts and find the icon you need (facebook.png), click on it and when you scroll down you'll find Module OnTap and from there you can link any app to it.

With the text and icons its not so much an opacity issue as it is a color issue. A solid black background would work, but with the texture of the trees having gaps in branches it conflicts with the white icons and text. Looks good. The old way was good as well, Just felt empty. Adding a clock or Rss widget or something would have helped it out a bit. As I almost always suggest for walls like this one with the render and solid color background adding a stroke of 1-2px to correct the outline and make it more uniform looking as well as adding a drop shadow to add some depth will really help the image in the long run.

I think its the type of screen as well as the size. Most computers use LCD screens while phones use LEDs, and even more commonly amoled screens where the contrast is much higher. When you take a 720p computer screen that is 22in and hold up a 720p phone screen that is like 4.7in next to it the phone looks better due to higher ppi.

I think the background is just fine. I don't know the amine its from but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there. What bothers me is the icons. The skype is easy to see and looks just fine. the web and facebook ones however are getting lost in the buildings. The plus sides to what you have here are the clock and icons go well together and your colors are all nicely picked. The negatives are your icons placement, and the battery bar. The barcode feels random to me. If you can get the battery to come out of the left like all the rest it will look pretty slick man.

Either way it will look better with the battery on the left filling up the sky. With the tallest building on the right the image is "right heavy" so filling the left side will balance it out.

There is no one perfect beginner style. Just look at stuff done in this, and past threads and copy the stuff you like. Read the pastebins and actually follow them. When it recommends 30 minutes of doing nothing but looking at and playing with launcher settings then do that.

Dive into riceing slow and don't expect an awesome theme to just happen in 5 minutes.

You need to edit the wallpaper a bit. There are some issues with the left-most screen and the icons not being properly centered in the bar. Other than that, like someone said, the left-most screen also needs a blue stripe, or remove the blue Yotsuba.

What lucky timeing. I can go over this banding issue for you. I was about to make the same comment myself.

Your backgrounds gradient is not very smooth. There should be a seamless transition from one color to the other. What you have right now is distinct "bars" of each shade of color that would be used to get from the dark purple to light purple. I'm on my linux box at the moment and GIMP will not stay open so I can't make an example of this to show you.

You can fix it by adding noise to the image background (keeping the character renders on their own layers without noise) and then adding a blur to the background. It will help spread the colors a bit and soften the transition you are making.

I though webm was supposed to have a higher quality? The amount of banding you have is more like something you would see on a GIF. That was the whole point in people pushing for the new format (not just on 4chan but in general). You can make longer animations, with better quality and even include sound because webm is basically a small video file. If I'm wrong here please correct me.

You have a good start but the shadow behind the icons is really weird, and the album art is huge. If you want the music widget to be that big it should be on its own page. I would center the date under the clock too.

Just to throw my own comment in, I like the darker version of the widgets. The contrast from the dark text to light sky is much better than the white to off white contrast. If you think the black is too dark maybe try using a dark gray rather than a flat back something like this hex value maybe #1f1f1f

There we go, only one problem. The scroll page thing indicator at the bottom, if I set it on 'none' in the nova launcher settings it just replaces it with an ugly ass line across the screen.

I overlook options all the time as well. Many times its just a matter of slowing down and going through the options line by line. With the launcher for example if I wanted to disable the page indicator I'm going to go the to dock settings and look at every option, even if its not related. Over time you learn where all the settings are and what they do even if you never intended to use them or have never used them before. A lot of this stuff is a google search away as well.

Also for next time, just throw your image over this next time. Its much easier to rate and is generally quicker and easier to open the image in 4chan rather than a second tab

Yeah, the feet was bugging me as well but at first couldn't figure out a way to move her and still have the file icon on her hat at a reasonably believable spot. Ended up just resize the widget to just show the song name and tweaked the color a bit. Also realized how to get rid of the drop shadow immediately after posting the image.

Did what I could about the clock. Until I find a digital clock I like, it'll just have to stay in the center. This works better for a b/w scheme. I'm actually digging this a lot more than the blue.

Flatro looks nice but doesn't have enough color alternates for a cohesive look (either uniform or diversified color schemes). Shit was driving me crazy cause I would have like two icons that were a different color.

Probably gonna stick with this until I can find a better icon pack. Preferably b/w with transparency. Whatever, pretty content with it.

This is actually not the best image to stroke. A shadow yes, but not stroke. The outline is not used everywhere, like the underside of the dress for example. A stroke would mess that look up.

What apps that are not themed that you need on the homescreen? I might be able to put a few of them together for you.

Most icon packs will miss the stuff in the app drawer (one of the reasons I hate applying icons through the launcher). You can always email the developer with the list of icons you need or want.

It absolutely depends on the image I have to agree there 100%. Adding shadows also depends on the image and the background color/style.

I like shadows when they are done right. Nothing harsh or overly big. Just enough too add some depth. It just gives the image a little something more. It also keeps it from looking like the character was cut out of paper and is just floating over a solid color.

If the render is not cut out very well I also normally suggest a stroke to give a solid outline otherwise it looks choppy.

I'm not going to give a #/10 rating. I think they are pointless. I will tell you what I like and dont like here.

I like the colors you picked. They all fit together nicely and nothing looks out of place or clashes.
I can't tell if its jpge artifacts or if you put a texture over the dark purple. Which ever it may be I like the look. It helps break up the otherwise plain bland solid color.
It got discussed a little bit in this thread but with this render and her pose I would add a shadow. With her leaning forward putting that in will make her "pop" a bit and will make the shadows on the top and bottom of the screen (that I assume are forced) look a little less out of place.

Just in case my eyes and the shitty monitor I'm on are messing with me here and there is a shadow disregard that last part and just make it a bit darker. Its getting lost in the gradient and existing shadow from the bottom of the screen so its effect is not there.

Thats strange. I've never seen stuff like this on an image that didn't have a texture applied. Normally artifacts don't look like that. And your screen shot is a png, so unless your wallpaper was saved as a jpeg I don't know where they came from.

Looks good. Only change I would suggest is using the blue from the skirts rather than the ties for the top and bottom frames. Its a minor thing overall though. With the slightly darker blue there will be a better contrast between the white and its just all around easier on the eyes. Neon colors next to white bother me. Its a personal thing.

I got it now. Off the top of my head I don't know of any that for sure sort by the source folder poweramp does IIRC have a folder like option so it might be what you are looking for.

What I would do personally is either just make a playlist of everything in that folder, and use any media player you want.
Or
You could use the built in media player that comes with es file explorer. Just open the folder you want to play music from and select all the songs, open the options menu and press play.

My bad... Didn't quite understand that you meant that texture. I viewed the pic on my phone earlier and the quality was really shitty (probably cuz of the mobile network) so i thought you were refering to that..

Just remember that complimentary colors are your friends. Use opposites on the color wheel when in doubt. Pair blues with oranges, yellows with purples, etc. It's not as fancy but it's the fail proof elementary way. Also look here if there is a specific color you want to work around

I would use lighter colors to help the clock stand out. I like the wallpaper as well but I just can't think of a way that would help the clock look better, without it also looking out of place.

The icons' colors are a little too bright for that greyish background and the top of the screen is a bit empty. You could lower all the icons, then move the clock all the way to the top and make it bigger to fill that free space. I quite like it though. It looks nice.

The banner for the search bar is pretty off. For the second screen, I'd keep Saber and the banner in the first place, while editing the top banner to fit the Google bar more snugly. Also get rid of the home screen shadows. It'll flush everything out a lot more.

I don't believe this is your first real rice, because that's a pretty solid 8/10. Only reason it isn't a 10/10 is because it's not particularly revolutionary, but it is really beautiful.

Judging by the nexus 5 frame hes running kitkat. So those shadows unfortunately are there to stay. I really wish they were removable though. It would look much better if they were not there.

Getting first attempts like this are rare, but it can still happen. With the resources and guides out there now its entirely possible to make a good first screen. I also like giving people the benefit of the doubt, because there is no way I can prove this isn't his first.

I think your icons are little too close to the left edge of the screen. I would increase the screen margin up one setting. Otherwise its a great looking screen. All the colors are consistent and your widget and icons go nicely together.

Maybe arrange the icons differently then. There's a lot of free space in the top middle. Maybe have Maka at the bottom with the icons to the right of her, and the clock at the top. It'd be a whole rehaul, but that solves the problem of dead space and the icons cutting into her.
