Post your vector requests and recently done vectors here
>Previous thread -> >>1695568 READ THE OP BEFORE POSTING!
>Before requesting, here are some tips: - Request an image ONCE per thread please, and yes, that includes bumps and secondings.
- Check the list below if your request has been fulfilled before
- All requests are welcome, within reason
- Nobody will waste time trying to vector trace poor quality images, so try to supply screenshots in decent quality
- Removing the background from an image is a RENDER, NOT a vector. There is a separate thread for renders called the Image modification thread (IMT), please take render requests there.
- Refrain from using a Render for a request and try to find the Original non-rendered image as it is easier for the Vectorist to work on
- note that overly complicated images are unlikely to be picked up due to their nature
- Requesting images that are "cropped out" on multiple sides, meaning images whose characters do not appear in full, is not reccomended, One side cropped is usually fine, two depends; something like minor cropping of the hair on one side is generally ok as well

There is a guy on double-you-vectors that is selling the original fiesl or just a high res version of them on his vector pages kinda hard to tell which.

>>1702072 what the... I'm fine with people selling prints in the group. However, while selling vectors is fine, it should NOT take place in the group IMO as it's basically free advertising for them.
Korius
>>1702072 >>1702079 Basically this.
Plus they don't look good, nor are they useful in any way since they are not avaible for download. Most of his vectors have background, making them unusable as-is. They should be moved to the wallpapers section at the very least.

But you are correct since a lot of the people that end up using the cube are new players we had to nix full art cards as well as foreign language cards so we did not have to look at the cards in the middle of a draft and explain what they mean to the new players.

I like the choice to change the colour of the shadows on her jacket, but dislike the change of colour in her hair; I feel like it's too red now.
Also the flyaway bit of hair on the right side (her left) looks weird, I feel like it should be one continuous line rather than the double curve you've got going on there.

JPGC
>>1704418 Hair doesn't really look red to me. It must be a monitor/color settings thing. If the OR has the same issue, I will change it.
Hair part is also completely intentional. The way it was drawn in the original wouldn't allow me to do it as one V line, so I had to use two separate lines to compromise and make it look closer to the original. People will nitpick and say that the hair line doesn't make any sense, but I don't care about things making sense all the time. Sometimes I just like how things are drawn in the original, even if it is flawed, and hair is one of the biggest examples for me.

Only things I can point out have to do with the ears. One of them is rounded and the other is pointed. I'm sure it's like that in the original, but I think they should both be either rounded or pointed. I'd say to round them both, but it doesn't really matter much. Other than that, the highlight on the rounded ear doesn't follow the crease line towards the top and kind of "bleeds" onto the front of the ear.

You know how much better it would have look if that fucking hair had a bit more depth?
You know how much fucking better it would have been, if you had just given it body instead of just going "with the original"?
I'm going to be blunt - it looks like shit, because the artists couldn't be arsed to take a few extra hours, and, even if he had still used strokes, added better depth by varying thicknesses.
I'd redo it in a few hours to show you the difference, IF I liked the image, but the pose and the show sucks, in my opinion.

>>1708201 To continue: The Vash and Asuka are a lot better, because they varied the thicknesses of the stroke, but they could have been a lot better, if you had heeded what (I forgot who, now) pointed out the strokes for the hair.
The asuka one you actually use fills in the right places, but you should have taken a buit better time and effort with the jeans, that button hole in particular is annoying. The ends of the jeans could have used a bit more love, since they are frayed ends, maybe a bit thinner could have helped...

Also when you do use a node, use them for "transition areas" like when a curve shifted from convex to concave, like in the ruffles, and when you do use them, make sure your nodes and levers are parallel to one another, to help with your consistency. It'll also make it a lot easier to change widths, locations, etc, without breaking the whole filled line.
Hope that helps.

I called it worthless because it takes no skill whatsoever and anyone can do this, so yes, in my eyes, these kind of strokes vectors severely lack any kind of depth and have no value.
Again, if working with strokes suits you and the folks you vector for, than all the better for you, just don't expect anyone to praise you for it in this thread.

Stupid question, I understand the use of stroke is discouraged (and with good reason), but is their ever a place where using stroke is appropriate? If both the blunted ends are covered, could you use stroke on something particularly ruffly for example? Something that's made out of lost of short bends rather than long sweeping parts seems like it could work with stroke, and would give better line consistency.

The thing that makes strokes bad, is when you're trying to do something organic - it has a tendency of making thinks look off, to the eye.

JPGC
>>1709572 >>1709634 What he said. You might want to look up some other screenshots, or look up general skin colors to get it right. Line wise, consistency is not terrible. There are obvious places where things are considerably thicker, like the bone lines for the back and the ass lines are much thicker than the longer arm and leg lines.
The main issue you have is using the nodes correctly. You are using too many sharp nodes in the wrong places. The elbows should be smooth, the knees should be smooth, and the fingers should be smooth. The fingers are the biggest culprit. They either have sharp points for the knuckles or at tips of the fingers. Some also miss knuckles entirely. I decided to do her left hand to illustrate what they should look like, generally. I also threw in some skin color, but that color is more of an "alive" color. I don't know much about the show, but if they are supposed to be dead, you would want some skin color that has a fairly gray tone to show some decomposing.
Anonymous
>>1709667 >>1709634 Mm, my monitor isn't the best, but even i can see the colour looks off now you've pointed it out.
Also, thanks for showing the nodes and handles on the hand there, that's very helpful.
On a side note, when i exported the png, one of the outlines for a finger on her left hand went all weird. That straight black line isnt there on the actual vector, and even moving it around slightly doesn't seem to change the result when i export.

Not a request, looking for advice from you all. How would you do something like this where the lines are sort of interrupted like that? Draw the full line and then do some color shiny sparkle sort of thing on top of it? I think that's what it's supposed to be anyway. Or would you trace it exactly like that and then make sure the color layer underneath is nicely aligned? I've been tracing it exactly like that and trying to keep the edges rounded but I think it looks kind of off. I also have no idea how I'm going to approach the background, but I've got a long while before I get there anyway.
NakkiNyan
>>1710008 What I would do :
If they are completely broken, like the leg, keep it broken. If it is thick and thin erratically keep it even with the whole parallel anchors and handles.
JPGC
>>1710008 >Draw the full line and then do some color shiny sparkle sort of thing on top of it Yes, do that. Draw the line as if the sparkles aren't there, and then add the sparkles in a separate layer above the lines. It makes it easier to just remove them if you don't like them, or have two separate versions. Also, having disconnected lines tend to not look very good in a vector form.
Anonymous
>>1710012 >>1710010 Hey, thanks. Didn't expect quick replies; I know it's usually slower over here. I guess there are different schools of thought here, huh?
I've only just started tracing it from the bottom left corner and the leg there was actually exactly what I was looking at thinking that it looked weird. I think I'll just draw the full lines and do the sparkles on top afterwards. Seems like it will be easier for me that way and I'm still pretty new to this. It was really weird to try to make the different pieces of the leg line be the same width and look like they were following the same curve.
This looks really huge and intimidating to me actually, but I'm going to try to pace myself and do it all over a week or so and hopefully not give up because it's such a big thing.

Some things would be easier with gradients and transparency manipulation, like most of the transparent circles and rectangles while some of the other coloring could be done with gmesh.
