Not good with resizing to fit my monitor, as of right now it just takes up the middle of my screen, is someone able to resize this so it will be able to fit 1920x1080 without only taking up the center? Thanks

>>1731222 As you say you have not done many I can tell you it looks decent for your third attempt. Your cuts are a little rough, you need to practice cutting curves. I would recommned also that you not be afraid to cut away a few more pixels closer to the actual image, when back at 100% zoom if done right many won't notice that a bit has been cut away to help keep it smooth. I say this because along your image the background can still be seen most likely due to not cutting away close enough to the edges of the image. That or your cuts are not leaving decent feathered edges where transperancy is needed.
In my example image I just quickly took whatever version of that image I had and did a 20second cut with the Free Select Tool in GIMP. Left image is yours, right is my example, top images are twice the size, bottom images are 100%. Take note of the smoother curves and the point that the hair flows into at the end. The resulting image is smoother and less jagged. This is not the best image to give examples on as the artist has some interesting straight lines in place of curves, especially along the hair.
I'm sure other people editing have many ways they complete the renders, only way right now I can see to help through my experiences is to tell you to cut more off so that the background doesn't show through and practice keeping curves smoother. The more renders you do the easier it becomes to still follow the curves and edge or in some cases just cut until something becomes smooth. I'm no expert but I can see your edit is a bit too rough.

Which brings me to my next point, it doesn't hurt to quickly throw your render on a dark background when you think you're done if the original background was bright, and vice versa if the orig bg was dark.

You can put a temporary black or gray layer behind your render so you that can check for bits of the background you missed. Also, your render was really not all that bad, but you should take note of what that other anon mentioned. I've seen plenty worse here, but that doesn't justify mistakes you made. Here it is with some quick touch ups. Not perfect, but I think good enough. I find that adding a black cutout behind it with a 1 pixel gaussian blur helps hide bits left from the background and makes the edge smoother. Keep in mind I'm no expert either.

I do see now why the shadow effect was put there. You could see her black outline in a few key places against the grey shadows. Not sure which I like better, atm. You might consider leaving the shadow for your color version.
