>>1750850Genuinely love SS, even if not as much as some other games in the franchise.
The tutorial is a little longer than usual, but this is par for the course in games with entirely revamped mechanics, and all the 3D Zelda games have forced-feeling tutorials ("demonstrating" sword skills to the kids in TP, anyone?)
The cutscenes are enjoyable, if a bit long. I'm glad that all of them were skippable on the second playthrough.
The world isn't as open as the first Zelda game, but none of the 3D games yet have been that open.
Dungeons require just as much backtracking and use of in-dungeon items as OoT, which seems like a good standard.
The game is by no means virtual reality, but the sword always went the direction I swung, and the archery was certainly more fluid than using a controller.
I have some compunctions about the story. I'm not sure why Demise's curse was introduced -- besides as an obvious shout-out and explanation of the future games' reincarnation system. That said, the curse doesn't explicitly say that Demise himself will be hounding Link and Zelda forever, and so Ganondorf's motives are left to his own choosing, so long as the curse if fulfilled in some form or fashion -- that is, even if he is compelled against them, he could certainly be so for his own reasons.
