But seriously, pretty nice desktop. Nothing special, but eh, everyone starts somewhere. Firefox feels a bit cluttered imo, plus he fonts aren't the best. Also you could incorporate some of those nice shades on your wall into the rest of your setup.

Yeah, that's what I'm planning to do next. Also, I'm looking for a ahk script to remove titlebars. The one I have doesn't work perfectly, as it screws up game's windows and does not work with foobar and taskmanager somehow. Guess I should learn to write ahk scripts myself.

When it comes to visual styles, I've been using 2px borders (That's as low as you can get with W8 without removing them by using shadows, and that's a little weird looking) but I've found that using thicker borders (Like the windows default size) it's actually much more comfy to look at.
Really nice job on it, although I would tone the white back a little bit.

When you're finished with it I'd love to try it out!

I recommend the toggle one (Win + H to hide, Win + S to show), some softwares aren't nicely compatible with hidden titlebars, with toggle you can keep control. As for Foobar, it has an option to hide titlebar by itself. Check File > Preferences > Main Window.

Installed JPEGview. Everything werking perfectly, just one thing annoying me: is there a way to disable the display of the file name at the top of the image? I mean that little bar that is on all applications that has the 'Close', 'Maximize and ''Minimize' buttons? Looked through the settings.ini and couldn't find anything.

Made a quick webm of the current progress of my panel. Still needs some work, but It's coming along very nicely. Still need to incorporate a wifi indicator, a "check for updates" indicator, and whatever else seems useful. Also not shown in the webm, but all of the buttons time out after an optional amount of time. So you don't have to manually close all the popup menus.

Looks a little overdone. Most people would probably just use hotkeys rather than click such small buttons on a panel. The use you COULD get out of such things would simply be notifications on what song is playing next after you navigate to the next song, what your volume percent has changed too once you've moved your volume slider on your keyboard and so forth. Just my opinion.

The explorer has an #ffffff address bar/scrollbar bg, whilst the file view is #fc, but I like the way it looks, so I'll keep it that way.

I do just use hotkeys for the most part (though the popup still triggers so that I can see what the hotkey changed). The reason I started adding the buttons though, was because my laptop is a convertible (Thinkpad Yoga). And I've wanted to start using it in tablet mode more (for just casual browsing and shit). So when I'm doing that I can't use hotkeys obviously.

I've never cared If people clone me. I basically cloned Mono (and Ahoka) when I first got into ricing. The only time I've ever been pissed off about it was when some anon claimed he had made something I had.

Just some I'm actually adding content to this thread with all my posts, here are some random unrelated things I've recently learned for ricing.
1. If you use vimperator, you can put your CSS directly in your colour scheme. Because of this, there is nothing that I can't now easily manipulate to create lots of unique and different setups (like Ubuntu Fag) since the only other things I use are GTK and terminals.
2. Just simply that Akemi is a thing (https://github.com/6c37/akemi). Haven't done any work with it yet, but it looks super cool.
3. And last, and this was posted last thread, but I think it needs more love. https://www.flickr.com/photos/megane_wakui/ Is an awesome collection of walls. So many amazing things in here.

Need to work on your colours, though that is a really nice wall. I would go for a monochromatic theme with it.

Personally I think popups look better when there is a largish border on the right (well I guess left for you) and a small border on the top.

Son, I was doing thin explorer taskbars before noha was noha. If your margins are 60,60,2,2, you're doing it wrong. You're wasting 120 pixels on each task you have open and it looks out of proportion, especially with small taskbar icons.

If you're talking about the music player fonts, then it's Mactype, a software that provides better font rendering, simulating Mac fonts. The actual font is Open Sans. The rest is pretty shit, though. But that's just personal, i just don't like bitmap fonts.

It's pretty simple, you just need to run the installation and follow along the setup interface. If you want to try it again, set the installation type to be on the tray, and then choose LCD format, it's what I did and it looks good so far.

Alright, besides that, your color scheme doesn't seem to be consistent at all. Your wallpaper seems to have a gray/black/white color scheme, so I'd use those colors to edit the start page, otherwise It'd look pretty stock.

I'd also get new fonts, for both your Firefox and explorer. If you're in W8 it'll be hard to change your fonts in your Visual Style, so you'll just have to set with Firefox fonts. For Sans Serif, I'd recommend either DejaVu Sans, Open Sans or Ubuntu.

What version of lain are you on, I've updated on a second computer now and it's broken it too, same configuration files though so I don't know if it could be something in there but I went back to the default newly provided rc.lua and copy and pasted configuration into it and it still gives an error.

The last commit was Lua5.3 rebuild, maybe changing -DLUA_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/liblua.so.5.3 back to 5.2 in the pkgbuild could fix it

I just moved to ConEmu, a comprehensible, interface friendly terminal emulator with compatibility to Cygwin with basically the same features with urxvt. I actually found urxvt easier to customize than Mintty, though, maybe because I had a tutorial for it, who knows.

Theoretically both, cygwin comes with its own bash, but I'm using ConEmu to launch as a Cygwin bash, that way I can customize it.

See http://nanami-tan.info/#AHK for proper info on removing titlebars. It's pretty simple, install AHK, take a script, paste it onto a Notepad and save it as .ahk instead of .txt.

It's a character the font you're using doesn't support. If you're using a custom 4chan script, there's a good chance that based on its location it is either a "watch" icon or drop-down menu. You can fix it by either finding its css selector and manually setting the font to something supported (or hiding it if you don't know what it is/use it currently), or setting global font to something different.

Those are the default exon shadows, as for the borders, use the tinywindowborders program, since there's no way to completely remove borders on 8.1, unless you use bbzero skin

Occasionally presents problems in webpage depending on how the layout was programmed. Used to use similar CSS. Swapped to addon, no problems.

Yeah, one drawback of the css edit is that on pages that display on a single page, hence no scrollbars, the right margin got cut off by whatever the width of the bar is.

Yea, it's not hard at all, just drag the windows till they look even.

I prefer floating windows much more, and I don't feel like taking the time to figure out how to use a tiling wm.

I imagined you used the mpd guide on Nanami to setup your urxvt. And yes, you need Xming/Xlaunch to run urxvt. You can follow the guide on Nanami, just jump to the section on how it tells you to setup urxvt. Instead of using the lines provided in the guide, use these instead: http://pastebin.com/mAma8tYw

Also, be sure to change the fonts. To get the fonts working, just paste the font (in ttf format) in /usr/shared/fonts (if it doesn't exist, just create the folder).

But I still think you should really try ConEmu, tho. Sorry for persisting, but it's really just basically urxvt on easy and more practical mode.

Is there a way to get mactype only to be enabled inside firefox?
