This isn't some dumb shit like Psycho Pass where you just throw in high-school level reading list references, but something that carefully explores the topic of posthumanity and mind-body dualism.
It even formulated its own concept (a "stand alone complex") that is extremely relevant in the context of digital communication. While it's similar to some other ideas, we shouldn't forget that this is a cartoon that's playing with these ideas.
