I like Ryuko but wanted to like her even more. I like her more than Satsuki when it comes to character and design, but the plot points like "you are half alien strings" didn't sit right with me. That kind of thing struck me as the product of a production snag. Why couldn't she just be the willful lemon-eating character with a weapon case on her back that we met at the start?
