yeah, I used flavors and a terminal theme to go with my desktop. pretty normal really, I kind of want to update my mac so I can get the auto-hiding top bar, but I don't think its worth the risk of everything breaking ;_;

its funny actually, i already had almost everything else themed, and i installed flavours with the intention of making a custom theme, but this one fits so perfectly I figured that i really couldnt do any better with my limited photoshop and mac theming knowledge.

as far as things breaking... flavors i guess and possibly a bunch of other things as I have modified my os quite a bit and have been taught to distrust apples updates after it killed one of my snow leapord computers

I'm not really sure what you want help with, I'm not really looking to give a walkthrough because there is already a guide for it here:https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_guide And on top of that there are plenty of guides on youtube.
I'm not really at the point where I want to post the whole theme yet but I can tell what programs I used and give you pointers.

Some anon posted this over in /v/ today and I can't see to figure out how they changed their start menu icons.
I found the Metro UI icons that they based theirs off of, just can't figure out what they used to set the picture behind the icons.

i know some people save every image in these threads, so I'll ask on the off chance someone saved my old post.

I'm looking for an old desktop I'm pretty sure I posted here. It was probably 3840x1080 and was definitely this wallpaper on the ride side.

It was posted sometime between August 2014 and December 2015, if that helps.

Pardon my ignorance, "edit shell"? Shellstyle.dll you mean? You're probably trying to edit the shellstyle in system32 instead of the one with your theme (if you are having issues) but I fail to see how someone could fuck up recompiling one line in one dll.

Tree view? Do you mean the navigation pane? Visibility is determined by a true/false value in the registry. By default its just a menu option with "organize".

I know what explorerframe.dll does, that was my point...

What else are you trying to accomplish thats so difficult? I think most people are satisfied just downloading and installing a visual style...

You should install Manjaro -- it takes away all the hard work of starting from scratch on Arch.
It's still fully customizable and has *almost* all the benefits of Arch!

Not saying you'll have an ez time configuring everything but---

I Plan on writing some guides later on so people can just copy all the config files of awesome customizations. What are your thoughts on this?

I have 3 urxvt windows open, one normal, one with ranger, and one with ncmpcpp. In the middle I have thunar open. The image viewer is ahoviewer which I use to browse yandere, konachan, etc. For locally stored images I usually just use feh. The bar is tint2.
I have compton running which makes the shadows. I was also using it for vsync but I have switched gpus since that screenshot and its been giving me issues with the radeon driver(I was using amdgpu in that image). I will probably just rebuild the kernel with the 'experimental support' for this 390x I now have.

It's OK, the CSS is actually for the firefox window itself, you can apply the CSS via an addon called stylish, for 4chan CSS you would want to use OneeChan, I would imagine there is some info about that in the OP, I would recommend reading all the links if you are new.

It still kinda looks the same, I just don't use that laptop much now. After I move to linux on it, I never really themed it as well as I did on windows and the customisation that it does have is stuff I either could copy from windows like the appchan theme or it's just copied configs from my desktop so the colors are wrong so it's not really worth posting in desktop threads.

I compiled the kernel with support enabled but regardless of what I put in the xorg.conf it displays the normal starting text but just freezes while still in the terminal. I looked at the logs and they just stop. No errors or anything. The radeon driver is being a total piece and I have no clue why. I think I might just try the new hybrid driver that AMD released since apparently it works by default with gcn 1.1

I found a program called TileCreator which could do the trick but it seems like it would take a fuck ton of work with it to achieve the same results as what the OP has. If anyone knows an easier way to get the same effect it would be greatly appreciated
