What is an anime?
In Japan, Anime means animation, so anything animated is an Anime. So anything Disney would be anime in Japan.
Maybe you think Anime means; animation from Japan. Well Avatar was animated in Asia, but people whine about that series not being an anime.
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck. And to quote Monty Oum himself; "Some believe just like Scotch needs to be made in Scotland, an American company can’t make anime. I think that’s a narrow way of seeing it. Anime is an art form, and to say only one country can make this art is wrong.”.
In conclusion, even if you still don't consider this animated production that has an official Japanese dub and manga as an anime, it is nevertheless 'animesque' and belongs on this board more so than /wg/ in my opinion.
