I was in a feud with my younger brother over what new console we should get: the PS2 or the Gamecube. I was in the PS2 camp, he was in the GC camp.
Turns out we got the GC for christmas, which was bundled with MP1 that had a demo for MP2. Although I bitched and whined, I eventually relented and managed to get first dibs because I was older (10 over 8).
I was sucked in within the first 15 minutes. The graphics, atmosphere, soundtrack, gameplay, everything was fucking awesome to my young mind. It still holds a special place in my heart and I'm really fucking concerned with how Nintendo is moving with the series today.
