And even plants don't inherit their roots. (Ref.: I am german, and that adjective denotes something entirely differend than what it denoted when some part of your ancestry moved away from central europe)
Back to topic. A personal skill that I am unaware of most of the time is my vast knowledge of geography. The topic doesn't come up often, of course, but I find it often astonishing how otherwise well educated people do have no general knowledge about how their country and its infrastructure is, well, structured.
