I always liked Rachel Summers. From her first appearance up through Excalibur. I lost track of her after that. I liked that she came from a terrible future but in that world Jean Grey never became Dark Phoenix. When Rachel assumed the Phoenix mantle she became a symbol of hope and the triumph of the human spirit. I hope they never made her go dark side. I fear it was inevitable which is one reason I stopped paying attention to what they were doing with her.
